OREGANO ESSENTIAL OIL

Our organically crafted Oregano Essential Oil is steam distilled from the delicate, green leaves of the purple-flowering of the Origanum vulgare herb, cultivated in the Hungary. With its enlivening warm, herbaceous, spicy-sweet and peppery aroma, Oregano Essential Oil is certainly one of nature's powerhouses.

Oregano is a very close relative of Marjoram, so much so there is some confusion in the cross-pollination of their names: what is known as Marjoram in Britain turns up as oregano in Italy! This is the pungently aromatic herb of southern Italy, the one that is used, mainly in its dried form, flavour pizzas and tomato sauces. Indeed, Greek cooks are convinced that dried oregano - rigani - is best used in dried and what's more is the only herb worth drying!

Oregano Oil contains two powerful compounds, Carvacrol and Thymol, both of which have been shown in studies to have strong anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Carvacrol, a monoterpenic phenol, has widespread uses ranging from treating allergies and bacterial infections to protecting the skin. When used appropriately, Oregano Essential Oil makes an excellent addition to any essential oil collection.

Kids Safety: Safe to use topically with children 10 years of age and older. Dilute to a .5% dilution rate for topical application.

- Diffuse in an open, well-ventilated area.
