Abyssinian Seed Oil
Organically crafted Abyssinian Oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of the Crambe abyssinica crop, an oilseed plant in the Brassicaceae family. It is also known as Abyssinan mustard, Abyssinian kale. The Crambe abyssinica plant originated in eastern Africa in the Ethiopian Highlands known as Abyssinia, it is also cultivated in the Mediterranean region in southern Europe and in Canada. Abyssinian Oil is a non-greasy natural seed oil. It is recognized for its high levels of Erucic Acid (an unsaturated C22 fatty acid), which makes it highly resistant to oxidation. Contains Linoleic and Linolenic acids, which are important omega fatty acids, known for collagen production, maintaining nutrients, cell communication, skin conditioning, and anti-inflammatory properties. Abyssinian Seed Oil can help improve skin tone and reduce dark spots. It is also known to help protect from excessive UV damage.
Similar to Argan oil, Abyssinian Seed Oil is great to include in hair care formulations because it is non-greasy and highly moisturizing. When added to hair oil, it is easily absorbed, adds body, shine and helps to condition hair. The high Erucic Acid content helps to seal in moisture and protect hair strands from drying out. Abyssinian Seed Oil can help protect hair from heat breakage and protect hair from the heat of styling tools.
