Blood Orange Essential Oil

Our organically crafted Blood Orange Essential Oil is cold pressed from the red-fleshed rinds of Citrus sinensis fruits, sustainably harvested from wild Italian orchards. Our Blood Orange Oil has a fresh, vibrant fruity-aldehydic, citrus aroma that is sparkly, sweet, and slightly woodsy. Blood Orange is considered a variety of Sweet Orange and shares the same botanical name.

The distinctive dark flesh color of Blood Oranges is due to the plentiful presence of a certain kind of healthful antioxidant pigments called anthocyanins. These antioxidant pigments, though common to many flowers and fruits, are almost exclusively found in just Blood Oranges amongst all citrus fruits. Anthocyanins, however, are odorless, water-soluble flavonoids that do not appear in the essential oil.
