Our organically crafted Boronia Absolute, also colloquially referred to as Boronia Essential Oil, is extracted from the fragrant cup-shaped reddish-purple flowers of Boronia megastigma shrub [Family: Rutaceae] originating in Western Australia. With its incredibly alluring, rich, flowery aroma with the natural green freshness of cassis and undertones of ripening hay, Boronia Absolute is used widely within perfumery and fragrancing applications.
Boronia Absolute is possibly the only absolute containing natural ionones, mostly beta-ionone but also smaller amounts of alpha-ionone. Despite its fairly high ionone content, the violet feature in its aroma is far from being dominant in its aroma profile. It has an amazingly beautiful and exquisite aroma, this is one of the most sought-after fragrances in the world that will leave you drooling even after a while you have been smelling it on a smelling strip.

Containing natural ionones, Boronia Absolute is used in high class floral perfumes and bases. It can be used to bring many aspects of a complex perfume into a more harmonious whole as well as being a prized fixative. Boronia plant is named after Francesco Borone, a young 18th century Italian botanist who met an untimely death while studying under Sir James Smith. Smith named the sweet-smelling Australian shrub after his deceased protege in a way to honor his memory.
